* LOVE *
Love is something that you and I must have. We must have it because our
spirit feeds upon it. We must have it because without it we become faint
and weak.
Without love our self-esteem weakens. Without it our courage fails.
Without love we can no longer look confidently at the world. We turn
inward and begin to feed upon our own personalities and little by little
we destroy ourselves.
With love we are creative. With love we march tirelessly. With love and
with love alone we are able to sacrifice for others.
Chief Dan George

I was born part Abenaki but the Elders have taught me that being Indian is in the Heart, Soul and Spirit.
There is no such thing as being part Indian. Either you are or you are not.
I am very proud of the Abenaki blood that flows through my veins.

CRY FOR THE PEOPLE....

A Dedication to the Native American People
by Frances de Paul Jensen

I heard what you said when you said that you heard the deer crying
the voice in the wind had carried that message to you
I heard what you said when you said that you heard the deer crying,
the voice in the wind had carried that message to me
The grace of the swift ones is something we all must remember
They've lived through the chill of the land of the cold midnight sun
The howl of the wolf was a thing that they all had to live with
The fang of the hungry had taken their young ones away
So the young deer developed a way that they all could go flying
In search of the path of the ones who live noble and free
Now a new kind of man is taking his place on the planet
A voice in the wind had carried that message to me

With deep heartfelt spiritual love to all The People

Frances De Paul-Jensen
