Love is something that you and I must have.
We must have it because our spirit feeds upon it. We must have it because without it we become faint and weak.
Without love our self-esteem weakens. Without it our courage fails. Without love we can no longer look confidently at the world. We turn inward and begin to feed upon our own personalities and little by little we destroy ourselves.
With love we are creative. With love we march tirelessly. With love and with love alone we are able to sacrifice for others.

The Abenaki are not a federally recognized Indian tribe according to the United States Government, however, the Abenaki are a recognized Indian tribe in Canada *** APRIL 22. 2011.....Years after the first Abenaki Indians sought to be publicly recognized in Vermont, the state on Friday granted recognition to two tribes: the Elnu Abenaki, based in Windham County and the Nulhegan Band of the Coosuk Abenaki Nation in northeastern Vermont.
Gov. Peter Shumlin signed the bills Friday, a step that could allow the tribes to sell their crafts as Indian-made and seek federal education grants.

I was born part Abenaki but the Elders have taught me that being Indian is in the Heart Soul and Spirit.
There is no such thing as being part Indian.
Either You are or You are not.
I am very proud of the Abenaki blood that flows through my veins.
